Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was five, she moved to Oxfordshire to attend the Dragon School. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress from the age of six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute which offers classes for part-time students. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in many Stagecoach plays and productions. In 1999 casting began to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having eight straight auditions. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. The highest-grossing movie of 2001 The film broke records for its debut day opening and opening weekend takings. Critics praised the film and its performances by the three leading actors of the young generation. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma received five awards in recognition of her work in the movie.
