She was raised in Hauppauge, New York, and attended Hauppauge High School.Loughlin's career started at the age of 11 when she was offered a job as model for print. She was 15 when she was a part of the ABC soap drama "The Edge of Night," and starred in the show from the year 1980 to 1983. She appeared in numerous films as well as guest spots on television in the mid-to late eighties. In 1988 she was cast as Aunt Becky "Rebecca" Donaldson in the ABC sitcom Full House. Although her character was initially not supposed to have an arc of six episodes, she became an ongoing character for the rest of the show.
